Reebok Zig Escape – John Wall Season 3

Reebok Basketball’s lone star athlete John Wall will enter his third NBA season later this year – will he be able to Escape the depths of the NBA Lottery and lead the Washington Wizards to a Playoff berth? The Wizards are definitely among the most talked-about teams this offseason for their impressive roster-revamp; they’ve added Emeka Okafor to battle down low alongside Nene, bolstered the swingman position with Trevor Ariza, and drafted Bradley Beal of Florida to help out in the backcourt. It seems the Wizards made all the right moves toward Playoff contention, but the future of the Wizards truly lies on the shoulders of John Wall, who will debut the Reebok Zig Escape later this year. The Zig midsole returns with a dazzling upper that anyone will quickly attribute to the Reebok Kamikaze and an exterior lacing system that gives the Zig Escape a sportier look. atmos x Reebok Alien Stomper ‘Leopard’

2011 has seen a marked increase in animal print sneaker designs, and especially over the last month-plus, we’ve seen this trend distilled down to where one particular motif now stands out above the rest. The combination of black leather and leopard spots has been done on a couple of Japanese stores’ collaborations with Puma, Big Seans’ upcoming adidas Originals Superstar shelltoes that match a pair of Forums released in early October, and now this new atmos x Reebok Alien Stomper joins the list. Compared to the Toyko retailer’s Puma Clydes, these offer a lighter range of brown tones, and this model’s laceless dual-strapped design is sure to attract a bunch of attention, even compared to the other designs with which we categorized them. Basquiat x Reebok Pump Omni Lite – Black – Brass

The New York Times must’ve forgotten that young artsy types still pass copies of Downtown 81 among friends, but they were at least on the right track in noting that it was “Not until the rapper-producer Swizz Beatz’s public embrace of [Jean-Michel] Basquiat did his presence begin to grow.” Surely Madonna meant more to The Radiant Child’s career than the new curator of his Reebok Affili’art capsule, but there’s no doubting that Swizzy is schooling a whole new generation on Neo-expressionism via attention-grabbing kicks like the new Reebok Pump Omni Lites pictured above. This one goes further than any before it in pronouncing the artist’s name; could we one day see a similar theme on the Kamikaze or Swizz’ upcoming Time to Hold Court? We’ve seen several interesting Reebok Insta Pump Fury colorways this year including a few notable collaborations of late, and it looks like RBK will be carrying this momentum over to its in-house creations. This latest trio of Insta Pump Fury runners is kinda like a hybrid of varsity and flight jacket-inspired designs, their unique mix of nylon, leather and sewn-on patches providing a unique look and feel for the pack. Quite a nifty play on words, isn’t it? John Wall’s been living up to that “number-one overall” standard with averages of 15.4 points, 8.8 assists, 3.5 boards, and 1.8 steals per contest. Sneaker News showed you the Reebok Zig Slash ‘Great Wall’ PE that John Wall wore for a few games during the season; it features a sublime graphic on the mudguard, depicting the Great Wall of China with the words ‘Humble’ and ‘Hungry’ written in Chinese dialect. Emporio Armani x Reebok EA7 Fall/Winter 2010 Collection.

One of the more curious partnerships of this year has been the Emporio Armani x Reebok EA7 Collection; the high-end fashion label teamed up with the athletic apparel outfitter to introduce a collection of sleek lifestyle silhouettes with Reebok’s comfort and technology. Reebok Insta Pump Fury 2010.

Reebok’s been busy all over the place; earlier this year Zig Tech was launched, the Pump 20th Anniversary caused some noise, and John Wall was recently added to its endorsement team. It seems as if Reebok has a ton of food on its plate, but the ‘Bok’s been hungry! Here’s something to chew on for a bit – the Reebok Insta Pump Fury 2010. It’s an updated take on the classic Reebok running shoe from the 90’s, as it sheds its previous cyborg-esque midsole for one that displays more flowing lines in a tighter package. It shouldn’t take you more than three seconds for it to remind you of the Nike Free midsole, but the one on this new Reebok features a wider base and smaller grooves. The upper stays similar to the OG, but opts for a much smaller toe-cap, large ventilation holes, and a seemingly two-piece construction.
